Yep, straw. The cottage was built by local craftspeople, using original construction methods with bales of straw. The kitchen shelves are hand-carved and the metal work in the garden was forged by a nearby blacksmith. Inside, the one-bed cottage has high ceilings, a reading nook mezzanine level and a wood burning stove.
